NWH Awarded U.S. Forest Service Grant to Expand Sustainable Hardwood Processing in Pennsylvania
Washington, D.C. – NWH has been awarded funding through the U.S. Forest Service’s Wood Innovations Grant Program to support new processing equipment at its Marienville, Pennsylvania sawmill.
The investment will help modernize operations and allow the Marienville facility to utilize additional timber from the Allegheny National Forest. It also supports the long-term, sustainable management of forest resources while strengthening the hardwood supply chain and supporting manufacturing and local communities in the region.
By investing in advanced processing technology, NWH will improve efficiency, create new opportunities for sustainably harvested hardwoods, and help ensure healthy, productive forests for generations to come.
The Wood Innovations Grant Program supports projects that strengthen domestic wood manufacturing, improve forest health, and expand markets for wood products. NWH is proud to be among the recipients working to advance sustainable forestry and the future of the U.S. hardwood industry.
