Ipe

Native to Central and South America, Ipe is an exceptionally dense hardwood prized for its strength and long-lasting performance. Its color ranges from olive brown to deep chocolate brown, often with darker striping and natural variation that gives each board its own character.

Ipe’s natural resistance to moisture, decay, insects and wear makes it a favorite for decking, siding, outdoor furniture, boardwalks and other demanding exterior applications. While its density can make it more challenging to machine, it finishes to a smooth surface and can be maintained to preserve its rich color or left to weather naturally to a silver-gray patina.
