Scientific Name: Cedrela odorata
Native to tropical regions of Central and South America, Spanish Cedar ranges from pale pinkish brown to deeper reddish brown and typically darkens with age. Its generally straight grain, medium texture and distinctive natural aroma give the wood an unmistakable character.
Lightweight and easy to work, Spanish Cedar offers good dimensional stability along with natural resistance to decay and insects. It’s used for furniture, cabinetry, doors, millwork and exterior applications, and is especially well known for humidors and closet linings.
