Hands, Hearts, and Hard Work


Set in the timber-rich heart of southwest Washington, NWH Longview has been a key player in our operations since 1986. With a combined 84,000 square feet under roof across the sawmill and sander facilities and 36 acres of operational space, Longview is one of NWH’s largest and most established production sites. The facility boasts an impressive 13 kilns with a total drying capacity of over 1 million board feet, supporting annual kiln-dried production of over 50 million board feet.

Long-Serving Employee

Terry Bailey, Saw Filer – 49 Years

Roles Held: Cleanup, slab puller, chipper tender, knife grinder, saw filer, and more.

Wisdom: “Show up on time ready to work, ask lots of questions, and seize opportunities as they come. If you fail, don’t beat yourself up—take a deep breath, learn from it, and let’s work together to make it better next time.”

Started in 1987 in the reman department, progressing through roles in grading, quality, and regional projects – always driving value.

Fun Fact:

Longview has been recognized as a Tree City USA since 1984—one of the first Washington communities to earn this honor from the Arbor Day Foundation. The designation reflects the city’s long-standing commitment to urban forestry, managed by its Parks Department since the early 1960s. Longview is located on the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, following the route taken by the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
