Walnut Steaming at NWH Dorchester, WI

NWH continues to invest in capabilities that support our customers’ procurement needs. We’re pleased to share that Walnut steaming is now available at our facility in Dorchester, Wisconsin, expanding regional access to this important value-added process.

Steaming is a key step in delivering Walnut’s consistent appearance and color across boards. By carefully controlling the steaming process, NWH helps balance the rich brown heartwood with the light sapwood while maintaining the character and grain that make Walnut so desirable for cabinetry, millwork, and furniture.

Adding Walnut steaming at Dorchester allows us to better serve our customers with a dependable supply.

The first batches of steamed Walnut are already moving through the facility, and the results look excellent. With this capability now in place, customers can expect the same high-quality NWH Walnut from the Dorchester operation.
