NWH Awarded Federal Wood Innovation Grant to Advance Forest Stewardship and Processing Innovation
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins announced last week the allocation of $80 million in Wood Innovation Grants through the U.S. Forest Service to support forest resilience, rural economies, and domestic wood manufacturing. NWH is proud to be among the recipients of this landmark investment.
The grants aim to accelerate innovation in wood products, support active forest management, and strengthen America’s timber-producing communities.
As part of this initiative, NWH received $288,860 to install sawmill processing equipment in Marienville, Pennsylvania, increasing production capacity and supporting forest health initiatives in the Allegheny National Forest
“These grants are a direct investment in the future of American forests and the communities that rely on them,” said Secretary Rollins. “By supporting sustainable wood manufacturing, we’re promoting local jobs, forest resilience, and the responsible use of one of our nation’s greatest natural resources.”
